Today's businesses and large organizations have a variety of IT platforms. When it comes to print or Web-enabled output, there's a need to tie all these environments together and to implement a single solution for delivering output in all its diversity. PRISMAproductionTM provides integration between data center, departmental, network and in-plant graphic arts environments. No matter which module you start with, your options are open for future convergence. Simply add another component to PRISMAproduction and you've created the link to another application environment. PRISMAproduction components include PRISMAproduction for APA, LCDS, PCL, POD and MVS.
PRISMAproduction DP automatically converts proprietary Xerox DigiPathTM and DocuTech job tickets for printing on Océ production cut sheet printers. With the resulting flexibility, customers can print documents from Xerox printer drivers, job submission tools, and DigiPath on Océ VarioPrint® 2100/2110 digital cut-sheet production printers - as easily as they print them on Xerox devices. With Océ PRISMAproduction DP, Xerox DocuTech users can select the best-fit printer for each job based on the capabilities, speed, and performance of the device ather than proprietary limitations.
PRISMAproduction APA
With this module, PRISMAproduction speaks the language of AFP/IPDS printing systems. PRISMAproduction APA handles SPDS and IBM/AFPDS data streams, as well as line data or text with structured fields. Applications with variable data from SAP R/2, R/3 or address databases are no problem for PRISMAproduction APA.
PRISMAproduction LCDS and PRISMAproduction LCDS-MR provides Xerox DJDE/Metacode users with Xerox compatibility. PRISMAproduction LCDS and LCDS-MR support the Xerox architecture without the need for application changes. PRISMAproduction LCDS provides support for high-volume printing up to 1062 images per minute. PRISMAproduction LCDS-MR provides support for mid-volume printing up to 155 images per minute.
PRISMAproduction PoD creates an automated, high-speed workflow for just-in-time production of documents, manuals, loose leaf sets, newspapers, and books on-demand. The system features every capability required in a digital workflow in the graphic arts industry - from online submission of print orders, high-end RIPs, impositioning programs and soft proofs to production printing inline finishing equipment.
Depending on your environment, PRISMAproduction APA coupled with the Squadron server may also be used in the PoD marketplace. Both of these PRISMAproduction solutions are based on an open system architecture to accept all major input file formats, including PostScript, PCL, TIFF and PDF and both drive several printers from various vendors, simultaneously, from a single set of workflow tools and queues.
PRISMAproduction MVS enables the Océ Twin series of printers to support Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) and Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) printing under the MVS operating system. PRISMAproduction MVS is fully resource-compatible with and provides the same functionality as IBM's Print Service Facility (PSF) software to facilitate use of the on-line Twin system under MVS.
